Eight years ago, Ms. Blair used her hard work and self-motivation to fulfill a lifelong dream, establishing Ellie Pots, Inc., where she sells one-of-a-kind, wheel-thrown porcelain pieces glazed with handmade crystalline glaze. As the business owner, Ms. Blair oversees operations, conducts workshops on crystalline glazes, and personally makes all of the pottery available for sale. Prior to obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of Kansas in 2002 and opening her studio, Ms. Blair worked in nurseries for more than three decades; she still enjoys gardening in her spare time.
