NEW YORK, NY, August 10, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Emily Waters Dean, Senior Energy Conservation Project Manager at the Office of Energy Conservation for the City of New York, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership, and excellence in all aspects of her career.
When asked what she loved most about her job, Emily Waters Dean replied, "Working for the development of the city." In her profession and personal life, the authority in energy efficiency and renewable energy has labored tirelessly for New York - in its soup kitchens, animal shelters, community gardens, and with the Office of Energy Conservation - in hopes of a brighter future. As Energy Conservation Project Manager, Ms. Dean implements clean energy and energy efficiency programs under Mayor Bloomberg's PLANYC for A Greener, Greater New York. She develops scopes of work and assesses proposals for solar, cogeneration, wind and geothermal projects, manages renewable energy credits for green building certification, and implements energy-related legislation. Her additional responsibilities include tracking greenhouse gas emission reductions, securing project funding through the City's Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and developing energy policy. Looking forward, Ms. Dean plans to branch out into the fields of engineering and urban planning - and like all her endeavors, it will be green. She became a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional in 2006.
Ms. Dean holds a master's degree in public administration, with a concentration in environmental science and policy, from Columbia University, and a bachelor of arts in urban design and architectural studies from New York University. A member of SolarOne, Ms. Dean volunteers for New York Cares, and took part in the 2007 New York City Marathon.
