/24-7PressRelease.com/ - SANTA BARBARA, Ca. - November 15, 2004. Enlexica today announced the publication on the web of its Explore™ series of dictionaries. Explore - Dictionary and Encyclopedia at http://www.explore-dictionary.com is the company’s new flagship product with over one million terms. The company has also released specialized dictionaries for over 250 separate topics, like Explore - Dictionary of Money and Currency at http://www.explore-money.com and Explore - Dictionary of Drugs and Medicines at http://www.explore-drugs.com.
The Enlexica concept fills the need for comprehensive terminology resources on the web. Published as free sites for writers, students and word buffs, the Explore dictionaries provide substantially more information than the standard web-based dictionary. Along with definitions, search results may include a list of related encyclopedia articles, links to related terms, synonyms, or abbreviations.
“For many terms, the standard dictionary definition is not enough to fully understand a concept,” according to Enlexica’s President, Roy Kuklinsky. “That’s why we added thousands of encyclopedia articles which are automatically searched when a user looks up a term.”
Another unique feature of the Explore dictionaries is the ability to find a term without knowing how to spell it. A user can type just the first 3-5 letters and see all the terms that start with those letters. Or they can view a list of multiple-word terms that contain those letters.
For example, book or movie titles often contain several words. Typing in just the word “gone” brings up “Gone With the Wind” plus 18 other articles (and seven definitions of “gone”).
The Explore dictionaries also organize terms into detailed subjects so users can easily find related terms. For example, students of the game of poker will find Explore - Dictionary of Poker at http://www.explore-games.com/poker/ useful for learning about the many terms used to describe ‘player mannerisms'.
Enlexica, Inc. is a California Corporation located in Santa Barbara, California. The company was founded in 2000 for the purpose of developing dictionary/thesaurus software for specific subjects. The company’s first dictionary "The Language of Baseball", located at http://www.enlexica.com/sp/bb/, was released in 2002.
