/24-7PressRelease/ -- Farella Braun + Martel LLP welcomes Marc Tarlock as an associate to its Intellectual Property and Technology Department.
Tarlock has represented clients in patent infringement lawsuits regarding smart phones, wireless communication standards, video cassette recorders, flash memory and voltage regulators. His patent practice also includes administrative reexaminations and indemnification disputes. Tarlock also has experience with a patent appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Court. He joins Farella from Kirkland & Ellis LLP in San Francisco.
A passionate advocate for social justice, Tarlock's pro bono work has included representing an immigrant in federal and administrative civil rights actions and state habeas corpus. Tarlock has also counseled pro bono clients on consumer debt issues. Before law school, he was an Equal Justice Fellow for the Equal Justice Initiative of Alabama.
Tarlock earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School (2008), where he was the executive editor of the University of Chicago Legal Forum. He received his B.A. in American history and B.S.E. in electrical engineering, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania (2004). While in law school, Tarlock interned for the Hon. Rebecca R. Pallmeyer of the U.S. District Court for the District of Illinois.
