YONKERS, NY, June 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- FASHION CAMP NYC, the leading fashion business summer camp, will host its second live FashiONLINE video chat, "There's No Biz Like Shoe Biz" June 15th at 7:00 pm (EST). According to NPD Group, there truly is no business quite like the shoe business: fashion footwear was a $32.3 billion industry in 2009. With the "Sex and the City" girls flaunting their latest Louboutins mixed with Manolos, craving fancy footwear is at an all time high.

This FashiONLINE session will feature fashion footwear luminaries providing out-of- the (shoe) box thinking on everything from design to trends to marketing, while teens across the world watch and learn from their home computers at no cost. Online learning is proving to be an effective alternative to face-to-face learning according to a 2009 U.S. Department of Education study and Fashion Camp NYC, based in Manhattan, kicked off FashiONLINE with a recent video chat hosted by Teen Vogue.
The upcoming FASHION CAMP NYC foray into footwear will include panelists such as:

o Senior Vice President of Coach and co-owner of Fashion Camp NYC, Fran Della Badia (Moderator)
o Nine West Product Associate, Teresa Izzo
o Via Spiga Product Manager, Camilo Velez
o Designer and owner of oh...Deer! Shoes, Alison Muskat

Registrants can submit questions in advance to be answered during the video chat.

The FashiONLINE series combines a highlight of Fashion Camp NYC, learning from professionals in the business of fashion, with "distance learning," in order to provide interested teens timely information about various retail fashion careers.

"FashiONLINE allows us to not only expand our reach beyond summer camp attendees, but also to make camp a year-round experience," says Gordon Josey, who co-owns Fashion Camp NYC with his wife, Fran Della Badia. Future topics, chosen based on a survey of previous participants' interests, will feature experts on fashion innovation, fashion week and the four seasons of fashion.
