DELAND, FL, March 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Avail Clinical Research, March 22, 2010 - Hot flashes can be embarrassing, frequent, sudden, hot, and frustrating for post menopausal women. They are the most frequent symptom of menopause and perimenopuase. According to WebMD, they occur in more than two-thirds of North American women during perimenopause and almost all women with induced menopause or premature menopause. The Breeze 3 study is a research study for post menopausal women experiencing hot flashes.

Menopause is the time in a woman's life when her period stops. Most women experience hot flashes at some point before or after menopause, when their estrogen levels are declining. Hot flashes are sudden sensations of intense body heat, often with heavy sweating and reddening of the head, neck and chest or the entire body. At night, they commonly cause drenching "night sweats," and may be a cause of sleep problems. While some women have few or no hot flashes, other women have them numerous times each day.

The Breeze 3 study is a research study testing the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication for hot flashes. To qualify for this study, volunteers must be post menopausal women, ages 18 to 70. They must experience moderate to severe hot flashes to participate in the study, and meet the other study crtieria. Those volunteers that qualify for the study and agree to participate will receive study-related exams, lab tests and study medication at no charge. Compensation for time and travel expenses is available. For more information, call Avail Clinical Research at (386) 310-1334.
