/24-7PressRelease/ -- Correlation Systems has release a traffic optimization tool needed to predict demand for public transport services (such as taxis) based on real time data. The system was successfully run in the city of Ashdod to provide better management and planning of taxi services in the city. Data was recorded and transferred using GPS technology, noting the location of each and every car in the fleet at all times. This data was then analyzed using the FDP application and used to predict future needs.
ABOUT FDP
FDP is an artificial intelligence tool that predicts the demand for taxi services by combining geospatial data mining and self learning technologies. Provides clear output for managers of public transport, enabling the fleet managers such as taxi owners to manage their manpower better and to know where to send taxis, and when (taxis in the right locations mean reaching customers much faster - improving service).
It conducts continuous self-learning of locations, times and other data, constantly fine-tuning its prediction models to changing realities. This allows it to predict demand in different areas and times.
FDP also utilizes Real-Time Multi-Hypothesis detection which takes into account tactical changes in conditions (traffic, rain, etc) which demand tactical adjustments.
Combining these abilities with real-time data about the location and status of all taxis in a fleet ultimately results in a mechanism to maximize profits for the entire taxi fleet, which directs all taxis to their optimal locations for quickly finding customers (taking into account the location of all other taxis).
