/24-7PressRelease/ -- The Sons of Boyd LLC are proud to announce that the first 3 vehicles to be certified under their new certification program will be sold at Barrett-Jackson this weekend. Over the last 30 years their father, Boyd Coddington, produced countless vehicles some which changed the face of hot rodding and car customizing. The Sons of Boyd LLC are dedicated to protecting their fathers legacy and this certification program is a very important step in that direction.
Chris Coddington said, "Since our fathers passing and with the launch of the Sons Of Boyd web site, we have have received numerous requests from people asking if we could verify their Boyd Built Hot Rod."
Sons of Boyd LLC teamed up with Jeff Hyman and Auto Appraisal Network, the most reputable and respected automotive appraisal company with an extensive network, to launch the program. Jeff was Boyd's appraiser for over 15 years and has inspected a lot of Boyd built cars during those years. "The number of hot rods with owners claiming to have Boyd Built cars when they are not, is astonishing," said Jeff Hyman with Auto Appraisal Network. Hyman continues, "We felt that it was important to the industry and a way to protect the owners of a Boyd Built car as well."
Boyd Jr states,"Not only have we teamed up with one of the most reputable appraisal companies in the country, we have also put together a team of Boyd Built experts all former employees to cover every aspect to ensure every Boyd Built hot rod is properly verified, certified and authenticated."
The official program will role out by the first of the year but the first 3 cars, the 1957 Reeses Caddilac, a 1932 Roadster Hi-boy, and the 1957 Chevy 'Chubster' will be the first 3 cars to carry the Sons of Boyd LLC official certification and will go for sale at the Barrett-Jackson auction this weekend in Las Vegas. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Boyd Sr's favorite charity the California Elwyn Foundation.
