First Magazine to Bridge Films to Books Reaches 67,000 Subscribers with Unique Focus on News and Reviews Exploring the Relationship of Movies to Novels and Hollywood Production to New York Publishing.

/24-7PressRelease/ - October 26, 2006 - Films and Books Magazine, the first magazine focused on "bridging films to books, Hollywood to New York, producers to publishers, readers to movie-goers" continues its extraordinary growth of subscribers, breaking 67,000 subscribers with unique approaches to reporting on films and books.

The authoritative magazine reports on all books-to-films adaptations, while positioning as unique around a number of special features such as Books & Films SIBLING COMPARISON REVIEWS, a unique review-rating comparing the film adaptation to the book which inspired it.

"Also unique to Films and Books," said editor Josephine Nolan, "is our focus solely on commercial books and films. Even our advance book reviews concentrate almost exclusively on books that would adapt well to film. If we give a 'MUST READ' rating to a book we're saying 'this is highly commercial, highly entertaining and likely to be a film acquisition target."

News is updated daily at filmsandbooks.com. The most popular RSS feeds are the books-to-film deals column, and the advance reviews of books predicted to be "movie targets," and the SIBLING REVIEWS. Also reviewed are the films-to-book novelizations.

"We report on all in-development and in-production films as well as all important deals, even if they aren't book adaptations," Nolan said. "But we anchor most of news around bridging books to film, from our review predictions of books to our comparison of book best-seller status to box office."

Nine regular contributing writers from five countries, and a portfolio of reviewers managed by Review Editor Karen Moyers, add content almost daily. "Our contributors are mostly industry insiders, in both film production and book publishing," said editor Nolan.

Films and Books has a number of popular and free RSS feeds. "Interestingly, nearly all of our nearly twenty feeds have virtually equal subscribers." Films and Books Magazine now has 67,000 subscribers, while many more non-subscriber visitors land on the www.filmsandbooks.com website, where news and reviews are updated daily. Content does not require a login, and subscription to RSS feeds is free and optional.
