Orlando, FL, September 25, 2004 -- /24-7PressRelease.com/ -- Florida Drivers 55 years of age or older are now eligible to take the American Safety Council’s 6-hour accident prevention course online to receive a mandatory rate reduction on your auto insurance for three years (Florida Statute 627.0652).

There are some 6 million drivers in Florida who are 55 years of age or older. Take your class online! Simply read the course materials online on your computer and then answer the quiz questions. There is no need to take time out from your busy schedule to attend live classes. Study at your leisure – the course is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Objectives of this course include:
• Reviewing the physiological and psychological factors affecting the mature operator.
• Becoming better acquainted with certain crash prevention techniques.
• Gaining a better understanding of Florida Traffic Laws.
• Learning the importance of safety equipment.
• Understanding the social as well as the personal losses due to traffic crashes.

“We’ve made this course convenient for the many Floridians who want to brush up on their driving techniques and qualify for valuable auto insurance discounts,” says Bob Proechel, president of the American Safety Council, which developed the online course.

This course is certified by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and is available on a statewide basis through the American Safety Council’s http://www.maturedriverclass.com website.

The American Safety Council and its affiliated organizations have provided educational courses, traffic safety training, and professional continuing education in association with state regulatory agencies and court systems for more than ten years. The organization was the first to be approved by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to offer traffic school courses in an interactive fashion over the Internet and is the state’s largest traffic school provider.

This course may be completed online using any computer. Take the course from your home, office or anywhere you may have access to the Internet. You may log on and off as many times as needed to complete the six-hour course and you will not lose any of your invested time in the process. Simply log on at your convenience to continue the course in whatever time increments you have available.

Your course completion certificate will be mailed to you automatically upon successful completion of the course. You will need to provide a copy of your certificate to your insurance company to receive your insurance discount. Please contact your insurance company to find out the dollar amount of your insurance discount as a result of taking this course as discount amounts will depend on your individual policy and insurance company.

The cost for course is $14.95.
