- SPRING CITY, PA, October 09, 2007 - Great Valley Publishing Company, Inc. announced that
Today's Diet & Nutrition magazine was honored with a Silver Eddie Award in the category of Best Single Article in the Epicurean category of consumer magazines. The award was announced during the 2007 Folio Awards Gala held September 23 at New York's Marriott Marquis, the premier national event for magazine professionals. The winning story, "Sea Vegetables: Waves of Well-Being From East to West," was written by Dayton, Ohio-based freelance writer Michele Deppe, who recently joined the magazine's staff as part-time associate editor.

Today's Diet & Nutrition targets health-conscious food enthusiasts and celebrates vibrant living. It not only shows readers how to eat nutritiously but how to live well, with articles on health, fitness, beauty, and lifestyle. "As a relative newcomer to the dense and highly competitive epicurean category, we're thrilled to be singled out from the crowd of well-established and prestigious titles," said Kathleen Czermanski, president and CEO of Great Valley Publishing Company.

The Eddies, the industry's most prestigious awards, are selected by a panel of more than 100 judges from the publishing industry. This year, Folio received approximately 3,000 entries from magazines around the world, a record number of entries. Other award-winners at the ceremony included Self, People, Redbook, and Ladies' Home Journal. Celebrating excellence in magazine editorial and design, Eddies are awarded to entrants who best express a magazine's stated mission.
