FOLSOM, CA, September 25, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Now that our kids are back in school, we need to make sure they stay healthy, fit and focused. Today, local fitness expert, owner of Superwomen Boot Camp, and parent Val Fujii, is sharing simple, every-day ways that we can do just that.

"First and foremost, as parents, it is our duty to make sure that our kids have a balanced diet and the proper nutrition that their growing bodies need," Fujii says. Fujii continues on to say, "One of the best and simplest ways to ensure that our kids are eating healthy is for us to eat a healthy diet ourselves. They look up to us in so many ways, and this is a great way to instill in our kids that eating healthy is good."

Fujii goes on to mention other ways to keep our kids on track and eating healthy:

1. Get them involved in shopping and cooking. Take your kids grocery shopping with you, give them a budget of $10 and allow them to choose a few "healthy" treats to have at home or to pack in their lunch.

2. Keep healthy snacks around the house. It is good practice to keep healthy snacks around the house instead of snacks and treats that are high in sugar. Apples, raisins, bananas, sunflower seeds, rice cakes, yogurt and carrots are good examples of healthy snacks to keep handy.

3. Organize your refrigerator and pantry. Organize your refrigerator and pantry in a way that allows your kids to get to the stuff that they want, or that you want them to have. This makes it harder for them to get to the treats that you want to control.

Keep these tips in mind to help your kids stay on track not only during the school year, but year-round.

And all of you Folsom area moms out there...don't forget about you! Join us at Superwomen Boot Camp on Tuesday or Thursday mornings. Sessions are offered at three convenient times—6 a.m., 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. We hope to see you there!
