Food Storage for Emergencies Should Include Eggs and Other Items from Normal Diet
Emergency and disaster food storage planners recommend storing a supply of the every-day foods people eat on a regular basis, even difficult items like eggs. This company solves that challenge.

/24-7PressRelease/ - SALT LAKE CITY, UT, October 04, 2007 - Eggs and other every-day foods can be difficult to include in an emergency and disaster food storage plan, but Blue Chip Group, Inc. has made it a little easier - and better tasting.

"We know that many people think of powdered or dry eggs as something to avoid, which gave us motivation to come up with dry eggs that taste just as good as fresh eggs," said Jeff Augason, of Blue Chip Group, Inc.

Blue Chip Group, Inc. is the only company west of the Mississippi that has been approved by the USDA and has a USDA inspector present at all times to monitor the repackaging of dry eggs.

The Red Cross and other organizations recommend that emergency and disaster food supplies include the same foods found in a normal, every-day diet. Augason's company has come up with a way to process dry eggs that makes it easy to store and good tasting.

"The best advice on food storage is to store what you eat, and eat what your store - including eggs. If an emergency or disaster strikes you do not want to be eating foods that are strange to you. There will be enough stress during a disaster as it is, so why add to that by eating foods you are not used to," said Augason.

Blue Chip Group, Inc. has a wide range of foods that are packaged in bulk for economy and easy storage.

The company began with the development of Morning Moos over 30 years ago. Blue Chip Group founder Phil Augason was able to develop a method to create a good tasting powdered milk that children actually like. The distinctive black and white cans are on prominent display inside all the Macey's grocery stores throughout Utah.

The company has a retail store at 432 West 3440 South in Salt Lake, and offers mail order purchases through their web site at http://www.FoodStorageIdeas.com

Concerns about possible disasters have many people working on building an emergency supply of the foods that they use on a daily basis. The storage foods from Blue Chip Group are packaged in large cans that are perfectly suited to home storage, and buying in bulk is less expensive, according to Augason.
