Line up: The Norman Simmons Trio will be the rhythm section for the event. Charles Banks and Robert Banks from Carrie L. Smith's gospel years in the Back Home Choir, Amiri and Amina Baraka, Antoinette Montague, Catherine Russel, Carline Ray, Joseph Thomas, Yvette Glover, Carrie Jackson, Myrna Lake and Mable Lee (of Bubbling Brown Sugar).

Carrie L. Smith, is currently in the Actor's Fund Nursing Home, in Englewood, NJ. Call prior to visits (2 to 6 pm is the best time slot for visits, no photos, please).

Carrie has been on Broadway in Black and Blue, Blues in the Night with Eartha Kitt; a favorite at the 92nd Street Y, as well as The Blue Note and many other clubs. This Internationally acclaimed legend gets a tribute while she still is alive to appreciate and feel the acknowledgement from family, friends and fans.
Word of mouth has been building to fill this event, please come out and let a lady know that a job well done in preserving the authentic music, her way, is appreciated. Her last recording with Sir Roland Hanna and many other recordings paint her ability and versatility as a master craftsman and musician and singer's singer.

For the past two years, Carrie Smith has been privately being care taken at the well appointed Actor's Fund Home in Englewood, N.J. Several mini-strokes and "battle fatigue" have created a need for Ms. Carrie L. Smith to require professional care in a facility equipped to handle the responsibility as best they can. They, too, could use your support in taking care of many great legends.
Carrie L. Smith resided in East Orange at 123 South Munn Avenue, before being relocated to the Actors Fund Home at 155-175 W. Hudson Avenue, in Englewood, NJ.
This tribute is not a fund raiser but, a spirit raiser to let Carrie L Smith know her "melody lingers on" in the hearts of those who have known and loved her and from those who will be new fans of Carrie Smith's for years to come.
