Fornero Orthodontics Makes Large Contribution to Local Food Pantry

    COLLINSVILLE, IL, January 22, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fornero Orthodontics recently hosted a food drive, encouraging patients to bring in canned food items for a local food pantry from Mon., November 16 to Fri., January 16.

Thanks to their generous patients, Fornero Orthodontics was able to donate approximately 400 canned good items in total. They will be delivering the last load of items to the food pantry this week.

Patients who brought in food items earned an extra token for their good deed. These tokens, known as "Ortho Bucks," can be earned for a variety of reasons, including being on time for appointments, maintaining brushing habits, and taking good care of their orthodontic appliances. Behaviors and habits that elicit a token are always available; however, the food drive offered an additional opportunity for patients to garner extra tokens.

Dr. Fornero, owner of Fornero Orthodontics, is especially thankful that her patients were so gracious in donating these needed food items for a worthy cause.

"Giving back to the community is something that we at Fornero Orthodontics are proud to do," said Dr. Fornero. "That's why we decided to host this food drive in the first place - to help this local pantry, which provides assistance to those in need in our great community."

The local food pantry, which is operated by the Collinsville Area Ministerial Association (CAMA), provides services for those in need within the region. The pantry is operated at the First United Presbyterian Church in Collinsville. Individuals of this organization work together to improve the overall spiritual, moral, and physical well-being of the Collinsville and Metro East St. Louis region.
