PITTSBURGH, PA, October 01, 2008
/24-7PressRelease/ -- Education For Education 2008: The College Strategy Roadmap, a free educational event for families with students 9th through 12th grade looking for support and guidance during the college preparation process, will host its fall event on October 15, 2008 at the Edgewood Country Club in Pittsburgh. Access College Foundation, a non-profit corporation that provides free educational forums and seminars, and Summit College Funding, Inc., a financial planning organization that supports families in the college planning and preparation process, have joined efforts to host this event to share information, tips and resources to educate families on how to afford college costs, properly submit college applications, take the SAT and ACT like a pro, plan ahead for a successful college career, speak the college life lingo and seamlessly transition to college life.
"Education For Education is not a financial aid night where someone displays a FAFSA form on the wall and lectures on how to fill it out, nor is it a college fair where parents and students run around to fill their bags full of goodies from various schools," explained James Lundgren, president and CEO, Access College Foundation. "Instead, families are given access to the experts who can share insider knowledge on how to secure financial aid, scholarships and grants, how to approach the admissions process, how to prepare for the SAT/ACT tests, and much more."
Brett Luedde, president, Summit College Funding, Inc. added, "Education For Education was created to fill a need in the community for comprehensive information about college preparation to address every question, concern or confusion. Without the headaches and concerns that are avoided with proper planning, college can be a fun, rewarding experience. Families deserve to know and understand how the system is designed and what the best strategies are for navigating the maze successfully. We want to provide education and relief to families that feel overwhelmed by this next step in their child's life."
As a community-focused event, many organizations have signed on to support the success of the event and will be contributing products, services and monetary donations. These organizations include:
