WHITE PLAINS, NY, October 04, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Everyone can attend and receive bona-fide healing during this non-denominational, non-sectarian conference featuring nationally recognized Christian healers Bishop Alex McCullough and the Venerable Larry Mitchell, among others. Healing sessions are open to any and all people who seek relief from suffering and illness and those who may simply be interested or curious but not seeking healing. Conference schedules includes workshops, talks, and healing sessions taking place at Grace Church, 33 Church St, White Plains, NY (914) 949-2874

"One woman received her sight, another received her hearing, people have had their migraines healed, cancer, lupus, hypertension, sciatica and all kinds of other issues like depression have been healed," said Carolyn Rogers, assistant Convener of the 30 year old local chapter of the International Order of St. Luke the Physician (OSL), a world-wide organization whose mission it is to offer healing and training in healing the same way Jesus Christ healed 2000 years ago. This non-denominational healing order is Christian but welcomes people of all faiths and denominations to come for physical, emotional, mental or spiritual healing or training in healing.

"People are mistaken when they think healing by the Holy Spirit is wild, weird or wacky," says Ms. Rogers. "We don't jump around, we're quiet, compassionate and joyful in the most welcoming and pleasant way...and yet we have many wonderful healings all during the year at our monthly meetings too!" she says, merrily. She stresses that the individuals who heal are not doing the healing, Christ is. She and the thousands of individuals who have learned to heal as Christ did are grateful to do so, but it is Jesus Christ Himself who is healing through them.

Bishop Alex McCullough, who rekindled the local chapter of the OSL in 1978 and still opens the monthly sessions and yearly conferences says, "The healing we offer freely to all is Bible based, but you don't have to be Christian, or even religious, to be healed. We are led by the joyful Holy Spirit, and this is open to everyone, no matter what."

This conference features special guest the Venerable Lawrence Mitchell, B.A; L.Th; M.Div. Larry originates from Calgary, Alberta and graduated from the University of Calgary with a B.A. degree in psychology and sociology in 1964. He received his L.Th from the Anglican Theological College of Emmanuel and St. Chad, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1967. He has served Anglican parishes in the Canadian dioceses of Saskatchewan, Edmonton and Saskatoon. Larry devotes his time to the Order of St. Luke as the North American Director. In 1983 he was made a Canon of St. John's Cathedral in recognition of his work in renewal and the healing ministry. In 1989 he was collated as the Archdeacon of Saskatoon, East.

Larry has been a speaker at the Schools of Pastoral Care, the Order of St. Luke Conferences, as well as at parish and diocesan healing and renewal conferences and workshops. He has served on the Bishop's Advisory Committee for Postulants for Ordination. He has served as a member of the Anglican Province of Rupert's Land Committee on Ministry in the Anglican Church of Canada.

As well as speaking in healing missions and workshops in Canada, the United States and overseas, Larry has also led workshops and missions in other areas of ministry such as the work of the Holy Spirit, Christian leadership and has been a presenter at the Anglican Renewal Ministries, Clergy Leadership Training Institute.
