LONDON, UK, November 27, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Senior military and industry personnel from 3 major European military powers are due to discuss their latest tactical data links requirements at Defence IQ's Tactical Data Links conference in February.

The ever increasing pace of complex operational environments, often involving international forces, demand better integration to share real-time information; therefore data links are commanding increasing time and investment from the military and defence industry alike. As Steven Desjardins from Northrop Grumman said, "Essential to both old hands and personnel from emerging TDL countries."

The conference is also due to be attended by representatives and speakers from NATO, Poland, the U.K. and the U.S.A, from the defence industry, military, and leading academics in the field. The speaker panel will be lead by Dr Dan Gonzales, TDL Research Project Lead and Senior Scientist for the RAND Corporation.

On the agenda for discussion are issues such as France's T.D.L. coherence initiative, The Netherlands' interoperability challenges, and Finland's approach to international T.D.L. These discussions will be combined with operational lessons such as those taken from Lieutenant Commander John Ling's experience with the U.K.'s Royal Navy.

It is expected that the conference will serve to extend last year's successful event, where many people found that the "Speakers were excellent and addressed the important issues." Gene Katkus, NACMA, NATO.
