/24-7PressRelease/ -- Most fresh and frozen food products showed a small growth in volumes in the second quarter 2009, compared with second quarter 2008, although the international trade in frozen swine (pork) products has continued its significant decline.

In the 4th quarter 2008, all categories of fresh and frozen food, except banana, showed a fall (compared with 4th quarter 2007) in tonnage moved globally. By the first quarter 2009, most products had started to show growth again, and by second quarter 2009, only frozen swine products, frozen poultry cuts and offal, and fresh or chilled beef showed a percentage fall in tonnage shipped.
