#GivingTuesday donors will have opportunity to double the impact of their gift with a 1:1 match from the Samueli Foundation. The Samueli Foundation will provide one dollar for every new dollar FYO receives on Nov. 29, up to $5,000. Thanks in large part to the Samueli Foundation's 2015 #GivingTuesday match, FYO successfully raised enough funds to purchase new ping pong tables, therapeutic board games and other recreation and sports equipment for the fragile youth at the Village.

Yemin Orde Youth Village is home, school and safe haven to 430 at-risk immigrant youth from all over the world, including Ethiopia, the former Soviet Union, France, Eastern Europe and Brazil. Most of the youth at Yemin Orde have experienced trauma: from abandonment and isolation to loss and extreme poverty. With the help of the Village's dedicated staff, its fragile teens develop self-esteem, leadership skills, strong cultural identity and a positive outlook on life. Graduates receive a wide range of services including scholarships and emergency financial support. The Village's "Home Away From Home" Graduate House is available for short or lengthy stays. At Yemin Orde, the children find a family and a future.

The worldwide #GivingTuesday campaign harnesses the power of personal philanthropy and inspires generations of donors to give generously to the charities and causes they support.

"We are incredibly inspired by the generosity of time and effort of our donors who participate in this day of giving," said Karen Sallerson, Executive Director, Friends of Yemin Orde. "The quality programs and activities at the Village are important elements in the healthy development of our at-risk youth who are destined to be Israel's next generation of leaders."

The important Jewish tenet of Tikkun Olam (social justice, charity) is an important healing element of Yemin Orde's successful Village Way educational methodology. Traditions and values of Judaism are woven into every aspect of life at the Village. Yemin Orde's at-risk immigrant youth volunteer in retirement homes, hospitals and schools. Helping others lends meaning to their lives as they struggle to adapt to Israeli culture.

Yemin Orde's youth draw strength from the compassion and generosity of others as they work hard to become self-confident contributing members of Israeli society. Most of the Village's graduates serve successfully in the Israel Defense Forces or in Israel's national volunteer services. Graduates remain connected to the Village throughout their lives and return for lifecycle events, to receive scholarships to attend university or financial support for personal needs.

Yemin Orde Youth Village is located in the Carmel Forest region of northern Israel, just outside Haifa.
