LAS VEGAS, NV, March 13, 2010 /Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Lila W. Scott, Retired Executive Secretary for the Medicinal Chemistry Department of the University of Utah, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education administration.

Prior to her retirement, Lila W. Scott led a fruitful career spanning over three decades. A certified professional secretary, she excelled in several capacities at the University of Utah. Specializing in both basic and advanced computer programs, Ms. Scott was responsible for a myriad of tasks including the management of research funding operations, requisition processing, purchase orders and payroll, accounts payable and filing, to name a few. During her illustrious tenure, she served as Executive Secretary to Dr. James A. McCloskey, Professor of Biomedical Chemistry. Before obtaining her position at the University of Utah, Ms. Scott worked for 3M Company (Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing) and the Department of Corrections, as well as the Sheriff's Office in Salt Lake City and the Las Vegas Police Department.

In an exclusive interview with Cambridge Publishing, Ms. Scott noted that it was the support of her mentor at Atomic Energy Commission who enabled her to achieve professional success. Paired with her time management and filing skills, this support helped her to thrive in later positions and all the way up until her retirement. Today, Ms. Scott spends her leisure time doing scrapbooking and ceramics.

Ms. Scott has completed coursework in accounting at The University of Utah, in business administration at the University of Nevada and in general studies at Katharine Gibbs School. She is a proud member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals.
