SAN DIEGO, CA, September 30, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fusion Academy and Learning Center, a Solana Beach-based school that provides customized one-to-one academic and life skills education, hosted a twentieth anniversary event on September 24, 2009 and revealed plans to open two more Southern California schools in 2010. Michelle Rose Gilman, Founder of Fusion, recounted the history of started in her garage, during her address to more than 100 attendees. After a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce, Gilman announced that Fusion was identified by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest- growing businesses in America this year and will replicate in Los Angeles this coming March and in Orange County during Fall of 2010.

"The fusion team is not one to sit on our laurels for too long," said Gilman at the event. "We thrive as we grow and we grow in order to thrive. As we witness, year after year, the enormous success in our San Diego children, it makes sense for us to reach more kids in need of our unique one-to-one model of education. There are students who need an alternative education model in every community of our nation. For now though, we will focus on changing the education of our youth in Southern California by opening two more Fusions."

Grace Colman Losada, a former teacher at Fusion, will be head of school at Fusion's Los Angeles location. Prior to opening its doors in March, Fusion Los Angeles will have a community meeting in October, followed by several parent meetings.
