/24-7PressRelease/ -- Despite the current challenging economy, local dentist Michael Hrankowski has invested in creating a new state-of-the-art dental practice - nearly doubling his old practice space - that offers a number of unique services, including launching an innovative Dental Plan that makes excellence in dentistry affordable.

A gala grand open house is planned from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, to celebrate the new dental practice, which is located at 6100 219th St SW, Suite 530, in Mountlake Terrace. Mayor Jerry Smith, City of Mountlake Terrace, will cut the ribbon to officially open the practice at 2:30 p.m. Guests who check in on Facebook while at the free open house will be entered to win special prizes.
The new Edmonds Woodway Dental Care features floor-to-ceiling windows, spectacular territorial views, the latest in patient comforts and cutting-edge services in 2,200 square feet of space. The old practice had 1,200 square feet of space. The practice will eventually add employees.
Dr. Hrankowski and his team moved into the space at the beginning of the new year and, "the response has been fantastic," according to Dr. Hrankowski. "People are raving about the incredibly comfortable environment and our new services."
Dr. Hrankowski noted that his new Affordable Dental Coverage plan has generated tremendous interest. Individuals receive an exam, necessary x-rays and two cleanings for as little as $29 per month. "That's about a 60% discount over those services if they were billed individually," Dr. Hrankowski said. In addition, patients receive about 20% off most routine services
The plan is $45 per month for an individual and a spouse, and each additional child in the family, up to 17 years of age, costs only $18 per month.
Dr. Hrankowski noted that new practice is offering several unique services:
- A special "Tranquility Room" is available for all patients and even non-patients to enjoy prior to or after their dental appointment. The room features a Relax-The-Back Zero Gravity chair, soft lighting, tranquil music and aroma therapy.
- To add an extra measure of safety during amalgam removal, the practice has installed a DentAirVac system. This is a specially designed high volume suction system that catches virtually 100% of the mercury vapor, particulate and aerosol that is generated during amalgam removal.
- A SoproLife Cavity Detection System has been installed. This system can allow even small amounts of decay to be visualized, even before it shows up on an x-ray or before the dentist can see or feel the decay.
- A combination digital panoramic x-ray and dental 3D Cone Beam imaging system is coming soon.
Dr. Hrankowski has gained regional attention through his annual Day of Caring, which provides free dental care to those who cannot afford it.
Dr. Hrankowski has maintained a private practice that focuses on comprehensive adult dental care since 1982. Dr. Michael Hrankowski has earned degrees in both psychology and dentistry from the University of Washington. As a dental school faculty member, Dr. Hrankowski served in the capacity of assistant clinical professor in the department of restorative dentistry. He has had several articles published and often lectures to dentists and other allied health care professionals. Dr. Hrankowski maintains numerous study club and other professional affiliations.
