/24-7PressRelease/ -- The Deputy Mayor of Amman, Engineer Amer Al Basheer, announced today the names of the directors following the executive directors of cultural, social, and sports affairs, within the framework of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) institutional performance development and restructuring project.
Ms. Wessam Z'atar was named as Director of Sustainability and Development, Ms. Haleema Al 'Amoush as Director of Social Programs, Mr. Hatem Al Hamlan as Director of Public Libraries, and Eng. Naser Al Batayneh as Director of Sports and Recreational Facilities.
In the meantime, the announcement of directors of Cultural Programs, Sports and Recreational Programs, and Cultural Centers, was postponed due to the failure to meet the required terms and conditions. GAM will open the door once more for nomination and internal and external recruitment to fill these vacancies.
It is worth mentioning that the 27 short listed candidates, out of 117 applicants, underwent tests of personality traits and capacities, in addition to sitting for personal interviews for qualified candidates, each according to her/his position
The committee responsible for reviewing applicants is composed of the Deputy Mayor of Amman, the Manager of Amman City, the City Deputy Manager for Cultural, Social, and Sports Affairs, the Head of the Restructuring Project, the Mayor of Amman's Advisor for the Development of Human Resources, with the participation of a number of non-GAM experts.
The Municipality announced last month the directors of cultural, sports, and social affairs, namely, Ms. Taghreed Fakhouri Amari as Executive Director of Social Services, Eng. Samir Khreno as Executive Director of Culture, and Dr. Fahd Al Biyari as Executive Director of Sports.
The sector includes 7 directors in addition to the Head of the Department of Planning and Budgeting; the Sports Affairs sector shall include the Director of Sports and Recreational Facilities, and Director of Sports and Recreational Programs. The Cultural Affairs sector shall include directors of the Cultural Centers, Cultural Programs, and Libraries, while the Social Affairs sector shall include directors of Development and Sustainability, and Social Programs.
The new organizational structure depends on several structural lines that reflect institutional goals, and modern principles. It will also pave the way for the administrative reforms and processes required, as the old structure no longer fulfils the rising needs and requirements of the City. In addition, the old structure is not in harmony with the current human resources system, nor is it proportionate with the size of the institution and its growing responsibilities.
