The Durabook R13C, an upgraded version of model R13S, passes Military Standard 810G certification for drop, shock, and spill protection, plus explosive atmosphere, salt, fog, and freeze/thaw standards. It is perfectly suited for a variety of applications, including law enforcement, military, homeland security, field service, mining, and mobile workers in any type of outdoor environment.

Adding to its fully rugged character are its IP65 rating, which ensures that enclosed portions of the unit are completely protected against any contact with dust and water. Its magnesium alloy case is 20 times stronger than ABS plastic. It is tested to the tough Military Standard 810G while a version with Military Standard 461E/F is optional.
The unit also has a water-resistant backlit keyboard, and a 13.3" multi-touch shock-mounted, 1000 NIT LCD sunlight readable screen with lock and eight-level adjustable LED.
The Durabook R13C comes with an Intel Core Low Power i7-620LM vPro Processor that meets the most demanding of tasks, up to 8GB of system memory, a 2.5" shock-mounted SATA hard drive with heater that has a quick removal feature, and an ultra slim super-multi DVD drive. I/O ports include a built-in RS-232 serial port with RS-422/485 optional, a low-voltage express card slot with a PC card slot option, two USB ports, SIM card connector, SD card reader, and others.
With the following integrated communication devices, users can be connected anywhere, anytime: WWAN (3G), WLAN, and Bluetooth 2.1 + enhanced data rate. For workers making first-time visits or trips to unfamiliar locations, a built-in GPS receiver puts them in touch with their favorite GPS navigation software.
For ultimate in-the-field flexibility and functionality, a pivot hinge allows the R13C to quickly and easily transform into a tablet PC. A quick release mechanism allows the HDD to be removed in seconds, if the necessity is ever called for.
The fully rugged Durabook R13C supports multiple security options that assure the protection of important data. Users need not worry about unauthorized usage or loss of critical data with these built-in security features: fingerprint scanner, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 1.2, Smart Card reader, and a
Kensington lock.
Other user-friendly features found on the R13C include an integrated ergonomic rugged handle, user quick-access buttons, and an integrated stylus.
