Gary A. Ebert Honored for Excellence in Sports and Entertainment Law

    WESTLAKE, OH, April 10, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gary A. Ebert, Managing Partner of Seeley, Savidge, Ebert & Gourash Co., LPA, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in law.

With nearly four decades of experience, Mr. Ebert has honed an expertise in areas of Estate, Probate and Business Succession Planning, Municipal/Government Law and Sports and Entertainment Law. He also has been involved in representation of management level sports and entertainment individuals.

He stresses that estate planning is a foundation for living a full and rich life. On the government level, Mr. Ebert has participated in executive legislative and judicial areas. A limited list includes executive operation of the city's legal department as well as enforcement of states civil laws and municipal ordinance and criminal law violations with further requirements to defend lawsuits on constitutional issues that are filed against the City. Mr. Ebert has actively been involved in contractual requirements of bidding, procurement, repair and construction and related real estate and environmental issues. Additionally, he handles labor negotiations with classified and non-classified employees, establishing employment compliance standards and securing favorable financing requirements for cities. Mr. Ebert interfaces with other governmental units, including Boards of Education, Service and Safety Departments and has negotiated and concluded working agreements for these departments. He is often known by his colleagues as "Mr. Fix it."

As Director of the Firm's Sports and Entertainment Division, he represents several Major League Baseball Managers and General Managers as well as NFL and College Football Coaches and General Managers. The Firm also represents both local and national news entertainment personalities.

A recent inductee into Worldwide Registry, Mr. Ebert received a JD from Cleveland State University, 1975 and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ashland University in 1972. Other affiliations include the Ohio Municipal Attorney's Association, Metropolitan Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association and the West Shore Bar Association and Cuyahoga County Law Director's Association. Additionally, he sits on the Board of Directors of The International Municipal Lawyers Association and serves as the Ohio Chair. He is a founding Trustee of the Bay Village Foundation. He also serves as a Trustee of Bay Arts and on The Leadership Council of St. John Medical Center (University Hospital), is on the Board of Directors for Wigs for Kids and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer in the State of Ohio. He also has a rating AV Preeminent and AV Peer Review rating.
