/24-7PressRelease/ -- Well known Irish blogger Geansai Gorm has thrown down the gauntlet to Irish online marketeers in a challenge that is already drawing widespread attention within the online community in Ireland. Although the rules of the competition are simple the competition is already heating up and Google is being left perplexed. The rules state competitors have until December 1st at 3pm 2008 to rank a website for the following phrase: Geansai gorm
Entries open to all Irish individuals and Irish businesses but the domain to rank must be a new domain. The winner will be the person who's Homepage ranks top of Google.ie on December Ist. Competitors are not allowed to use the keywords Geansai gorm-gaelic for blue jumper in their domain name. Within a few days of the competition announcement over 10,000 searches were returned for the term Geansai Gorm causing Google to wonder what the sudden influx of non commercial gaelic terms could mean.
Whilst the battle lines have been firmly drawn by some of Ireland's leading online marketing experts the end reward is the recognition rather than monetary gain.
