/24-7PressRelease/ -- Allan Maldanado, also known as DawOne, will appear as Duane in Columbia Pictures' romantic comedy, "The Ugly Truth," scheduled to hit theatres in the U.S. July 24, 2009. This battle-of-the-sexes flick stars Katherine Hiegl as a romantically challenged morning show producer who is offered help from her chauvinistic talk show host, Gerald Butler who is not afraid to expose what guys really like in hopes of snagging the guy of her dreams. Through a series of hilarious events, things take an unexpected turn in this summer film.
DawOne is dynamic actor and rapper who is determined to make a name for himself in the Industry. He first emerged with his single, "Moving Forward," which resulted in the song and music video being placed in Starbucks, Footlocker, Champs, Footaction, and MTV network. He has been called, "the voice of the New Generation," when his debut album, "If My Thoughts Could Talk," emerged May 2008, including hit singles, "Super Duper Fresh," and "Open." He has also had songs placed in feature films and television shows such as, "Dorm Daze 2," and the hit show, "Friday Night Lights," on Fox which only provides a taste of this young, musical mogul's work and how he will impact the music world.
As an actor DawOne is not afraid to push boundaries and make his presence on the screen known. He has had appearances on Fox's "Lie to Me," NBC's "Southland," as well as, two national commercials, Skittles and AT&T.
