Rancho Cucamonga, CA, September 26, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gina N. Curasi, Counseling Apprentice for Chaffey Community College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of academic counseling.

With a specialization in college counseling, Ms. Curasi is responsible for working with college students, assisting students with academic planning, conducting orientations and working with disabled students. She became involved in her profession because she wanted to be in a long-term position in education in which she had the opportunity to work with adults. A recipient of an academic achievement award in 2006 and an award for diversity writing in 2008, and has presented disability research at the annual Western Psychological Association Conference in 2000. She attributes her success to her perseverance and believes that technological advancement has had a positive effect on her career.

A Certified Special Aide, Ms. Curasi will receive her Master's Degree in College Student Counseling from the University of La Verne in 2008. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the same university in 2006. She is affiliated with the American Counseling Association, Alpha Chi Omega and Psi Chi. She hopes to be a counselor and./or adjunct professor as well as a collegiate consultant for colleges and universities in relation to disability trends and advocacy. Additionally, Ms. Curasi would like to publish college student development theory.
