Ginger Lee McIlvanie Inducted into Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Science Education

    Yakima, Washington, February 1, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ginger Lee McIlvanie, a professional educator at Riverside Christian School, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in science education.

Ms. McIlvanie worked as a nurse for several years. She decided to pursue a career through which she could reach more people on a daily basis. Since then, she has spent most of her career in science education. She recently celebrated her 43rd year of teaching. At Riverside Christian School, she enriches fifth- through seventh-grade students, imparting quality, informative and fun educational lessons.

Ms. McIlvanie received a master of education and a bachelor of education, both respectively from Whitworth College (now Whitworth University). She holds principal credentials, also from Whitworth College. She is a member of the Washington Science Teachers Association and the National Science Teachers Association. In 2008, she was a finalist in the running for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. She is a chairperson of the Washington Science Teachers Association.
