LOUISVILLE, KY, September 01, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gladstein Law Firm recently settled a medical malpractice lawsuit for almost $2 million. Seth Gladstein, founder of the law firm, is a Kentucky personal injury attorney who fights aggressively for his clients' rights. Gladstein has experience in personal injury cases, traffic accidents and medical malpractice.

"With years of experience in personal injury cases, our team can help you move forward following an injury or medical error," says Gladstein.

The firm's most recent success involved a medical malpractice suit, in which the plaintiff settled her claims against the defendants for $1,800,000.00. For obvious reasons, names cannot be revealed but details of the suit were as follows:

The medical negligence action involved a doctor and his medical practice who failed to appropriately confirm the plaintiff (the patient) as suffering from endometriosis before performing a robotic-assisted laparoscopic abdominal hysterectomy in 2013. Postoperative pathology conclusively showed there was no endometriosis. As a result of the defendants' failure to confirm the diagnosis preoperatively, the 34-year-old plaintiff underwent a life-changing surgery that was neither clinically indicated nor medically necessary.

However, this situation worsened further as, while performing the hysterectomy, and during an unscheduled follow-up office visit, the physician failed to recognize and treat an intraoperative injury - a small bowel perforation. The failure to diagnose the small bowel perforation resulted in the patient becoming septic, and subsequently going into organ failure. She was eventually admitted to the hospital for four months, during which time she underwent 13 separate surgeries. The patient still requires two more surgeries to repair a large abdominal defect (hernia), and suffers from debilitating depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Gladstein Law Firm successfully settled this case on August 6, 2015 for the amount of $1,800,000.00.
