CARY, NC, October 16, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Glenaire, a continuing care retirement community of 460 residents, will host approximately 100 visiting resident athletes from two sister communities to compete at the sixth annual Presbyterian Homes, Inc. (PHI) Olympics on Wed., Oct. 16. Glenaire is located at 4000 Glenaire Circle, Cary, NC 27511-3884.
Approximately 100 residents from Glenaire's sister communities of River Landing at Sandy Ridge in High Point and Scotia Village in Laurinburg will drive to Glenaire on Oct. 16 to compete with Glenaire residents in a number of events. Winning resident athletes will be awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals in each sport.
Glenaire is affiliated with The Presbyterian Homes, Inc. which owns the continuing care retirement communities of River Landing at Sandy Ridge and Scotia Village. Games are hosted by each community on different days.
Glenaire will host these events on Oct. 16:
• 9:15 a.m. - Music in Rotunda by Glenaire resident Steve Clements and Friends.
• 9:30 a.m. - Welcome and Gather in Main Dining Room.
• 10:00 a.m. - Opening Ceremonies with the parade of athletes and cheerleaders, all residents.
• 10:30 a.m. - Chair Volleyball in the Auditorium.
• 12:30 p.m. - Quiz Bowl in the Multi-Purpose Room.
• 12:45 p.m. - Corn Toss in the Auditorium.
• 2:30 p.m. - Closing Ceremonies.
