SAN FRANCISCO, CA, October 01, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Look at SAE Institute on a world map and you encounter what seems like a sea of dots located in many of the most famous cities around the globe. The first campus opened in Sydney, Australia in 1976, and now with over 50 campuses in 24 countries, SAE's influence on professional media education truly has a global impact.

SAE opened its first U.S. campus in New York City. This year, it recognizes the 10-year anniversary in the U.S. with an industry event held at its newest campus in San Francisco on October 22nd, 2009. The founder of SAE Institute, Tom Misner along with the Director of North American Operations, Udo Hoppenworth, and Director of the San Francisco campus, Einar Johnson will host the event to a gathering of industry professionals and local artists from the San Francisco Bay area.

The setting for the event, SAE's San Francisco location, is the sixth campus in the U.S. that was completed earlier this year. Guests will celebrate within the recording studios, production suites and offices in the SOMA district of the city. Faculty and staff from all six U.S. locations: Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York, and San Francisco, will be in attendance.

Since its inception over 30 years ago, SAE Institute has grown and progressed in sync with the ever-changing media industry. Originally established as an audio engineering school, SAE has diversified its programs just as aggressively as it has expanded the countries in which SAE educates; including audio, film, game design, and animation.

"It has all gone so quickly for us. It seems amazing that it's already been 10 years since we first opened the New York campus." Comments Udo Hoppenworth, "In that time we've added five more campuses in the U.S., plus a dozen or so in various countries overseas. It's been an impressive period of growth for SAE, and as always we're looking ahead to what we're going to do next."

One of the projects Mr. Hoppenworth already has in motion for the North American campuses includes expanding from Diploma-level programs to offering Degree courses. "SAE already offers up to a Master's degree overseas, so now that we are well-established in the U.S., we are working towards implementing expanded degree-level courses here as well."

No matter how many campuses SAE builds, one aspect that has always been at its core and never changes is the hands-on, learn by doing approach. By growing through program development and additional campuses, SAE has been able to maintain an environment in which every student has direct access to labs, equipment, studios and faculty. This student-centric approach to education will continue to foster SAE Institute's growth in size and services to its students and alumni around the world.
