Judge Voisin has devoted 38 years to legal service, serving for the last 12 years as a federal administrative law judge in the Social Security Administration.

NEW ORLEANS, LA, May 23, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Glynn F. Voisin has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Judge Voisin has devoted 38 years to legal service, serving for the last 12 years as a federal administrative law judge in the Social Security Administration. His duties are primarily at the office of Disability Adjudication and Review, where he assures all interested parties are given advance notice of a hearing and have an opportunity to present facts, offers of settlement, and other legal proposals before a decision is reached. In addition, he rules on preliminary motions, conducts pre-hearing conferences, issues subpoenas and handles oral or documentary evidence.

Judge Voisin matriculated at Nicholls State University in 1970 and earned a J.D. from the Tulane University School of Law in 1977 after serving in the U.S. military during the Vietnam War. He was admitted to practice by the Louisiana State Bar Association, followed by the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the District Court of the Eastern District of Louisiana, and the United States Court of Military Appeals. He has been certified in supervisory techniques and as a public manager. Judge Voisin is affiliated with the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the Federal Administrative of Law Judges Conference, but is also locally involved with the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Community Partnership Panel with the Terrebonne Parish Bar Association.

The U.S. military have recognized Judge Voisin's service with multiple decorations, including two Presidential Certificates of Appreciation for Service in the Armed Forces of the United States, the Louisiana Veterans Honor Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with one bronze star. He also holds the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with one bronze star, and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with a gold hourglass indicating a 30-year period of service. Judge Voisin was awarded the Meritorious Unit Citation and the Campaign Medal from the Republic of Vietnam, as well as a Cold War Certificate of Recognition. He is also recognized by his legal peers, having been named the 2013 AV Preeminent Peer-Reviewed Lawyer and awarded the 35th Anniversary Recognition by Martindale-Hubbell. He is included in multiple volumes of Elite American Lawyers.

Judge Voisin's volunteer work is equally extensive. He was a former pro-life chair and former instructor of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine at the Houma-Thibodaux Diocese. He has served as president for the Houma-Terrebonne chapter of the American Cancer Society and is a charter member of both the Bayouland YMCA and the Houma-Terrebonne chapter of the United States Marine Corps League. Judge Voisin believes strongly in service above self, regarding both his service in the U.S. Marine Corps and his career in administrative law as highlights in his life. He attributes his success to his faith as a Christian, as well as his community, country, friends, and family. In the coming years, he intends to either continue his service as a judge, or retire to teach, travel, and spend more time with the people he cares about.
