/24-7PressRelease/ -- On Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008 from 6 - 9 PM The Recording Academy Chicago Chapter will host an event at the Chicago Chapter Offices (303 W. Erie, Suite 210/Chicago, IL 60654). The event, titled "Access Granted," will be an opportunity for college students to learn about the GRAMMY U program, and network with fellow members. GRAMMY University Network (GRAMMY U) is a student membership program of The Recording Academy that aims to prepare students for careers in the recording industry through networking, educational programs, performance and career opportunities. "Access Granted" will be for GRAMMY U members, Chicago Chapter Board Members, and members of the local music community and will feature special performance by Rock the Vote artist Trevor Menear. The event is sponsored by Shure, SESAC, Chipotle, Fuze, Rock the Vote and mtvU.
INFO: Admission is free for current GRAMMY U members. There is a promotional membership discount available at $50 for four years, or until date of graduation. Standard rate for GRAMMY U membership is $25 per year.
