Newly elected President, Tracey Johnson, works with Drucker and Falk, LLC as Regional Property Manager for the Southeastern Region and currently oversees 1,362 multi-family apartment units. He is a Certified Property Manager (CPM ) through the Institute of Real Estate Management and holds a Bachelors degree in Business from St. Augustine's College. Johnson says that in 2010, he's looking to increase the Chapter's overall membership, improve IREM Young Professionals and minority involvement, and continue to build upon the strategies that have made the Greater Raleigh-Durham Chapter a "5 STAR" association.
"Next year, it will be imperative for our chapter to promote and recognize our young professionals," explains Johnson. "These individuals are future up-and-coming CPM and ARM members of our Chapter and also represent the future of IREM Chapter 105. In our continuing effort to ensure that our chapter remains financially strong, we will be looking for more creative ways to add value to our sponsors and will be tapping into all available resources, contacts, and local management firms in order to grow membership and create more public awareness of our chapter."
Johnson adds that the chapter has a lot to accomplish and a very strong precedent to follow. In 2009, under the leadership of Past President Bonnie Moser, CPM, the chapter was awarded Five Star Status for the second consecutive year, conducted its first ever Speed Networking event for their FRIENDS of IREM, and again sponsored Urban Ministries of Wake County through their annual President's Cup Challenge Golf tournament, which resulted in a $1,000 donation to the organization.
"I'm very proud of the fact that despite economic uncertainties, our 2009 Executive Board and many others pulled together to ensure that Chapter 105 finished out the year in the black," says Moser. "We maintained the quality and diversity of our programming schedule and provided interesting and educational meeting topics, three educational course offerings, and provided outreach to area university students. We were also able to send six individuals to Regional or National meetings and conferences. None of this would have been possible without the tireless efforts of so many dedicated professionals. It was a privilege and honor to have worked alongside such wonderful individuals, and I look forward to many more Chapter successes under Tracey's leadership."
