WASHINGTON, DC, December 06, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On Friday December 4th 2009 Green Collar Association confirmed it will send Senior VP Gus Klemos and Senior VP Michael O. Dayan to Copenhagen to present the Association's Green Workforce Preparedness Initiative at Klimaforum international meeting this December.

The Green Workforce Preparedness Initiative is Green Collar Association's proposal for the Federal government to provide targeted financial and regulatory incentives to corporations, labor unions, and non profits that invest in the (re)training and education of skilled workers and professionals to equip them with the skills and tools to address the requirements of a green economy.

A transition to a green economy without significant development in workforce skills will only mean that many of the jobs will be sent overseas - depriving our economies of millions of good paying jobs and a leadership role in a multi-trillion dollar market. Dayan advocates the importance of this Green Collar Association initiative: "our objective is to raise support for Green Workforce Preparedness Initiative, to strengthen our nations' position in the global green economy." Klemos adds, "our goal is to prepare the workforce for the millions of jobs that will require a new set of skills."

The Green Workforce Preparedness Initiative is meant to foster green collar job growth, strengthen the US and Canadian economies, promote a cleaner environment, and improve living standards.
