Greensboro NC Smile for a Lifetime Foundation Announces First Quarter Finalists

The Smile for a Lifetime Foundation, established by Greensboro, NC orthodontist Dr. Mark Reynolds, announced its first quarter recipients of orthodontic scholarships to local students.

GREENBORO, NC, April 02, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Smile for a Lifetime Foundation, established by Greensboro, NC orthodontist Dr. Mark Reynolds, announced its first quarter recipients of orthodontic scholarships to local students.

And The Winners Are...

Tia Benton, an eighth-grader at Southeast Middle School; Sabina Muniz, an eighth-grader at Southwest Middle School; and Alondra Muniz, a sixth-grader at Southwest Middle School were awarded the scholarships for complete orthodontic treatment valued at more than $5,000 each. The students - all from the Greensboro NC area - have begun their treatment, receiving free braces and dental care to create a great smile.

"These are the first three of our 12 students to receive scholarships for 2013. We are so thrilled to see these faces in Guilford County with bigger, brighter smiles on them because of Smile for a Lifetime," said Jill Reynolds, administrative director of the local chapter. With donated time and materials, the dental community has provided more than $100,000 in dental care to 25 students since the foundation was established in 2010.

Dr. Mark Reynolds, together with others in the dental community, volunteers his skill, time, and materials to create the final results. "These are really great kids who are working hard at school and often display real leadership qualities. Giving them confidence through a great smile will help them reach their full potential, and it's very fulfilling to be a part of the process," says Reynolds.

The students were selected through an application and review process by the foundation's board of directors. The next deadline for applications is April 1, 2013.

New Board Members

Additionally, the foundation welcomes three new board members: Brian Maness, vice president for strategic advancement at Children's Home Society of North Carolina; Andrea Miller, media relations manager for Mack Trucks; and, Wayne Scott, deputy chief of the Greensboro Police Department.
