/24-7PressRelease/ - PORT ST MARY, ISLE OF MAN, May 16, 2008 - TV chef Simon Rimmer paid a visit to Island Seafare's Paddy's Market on the Port St Mary Quay last week to film an episode for his new Grubs Up series appearing on ITV later this year.
Simon Rimmer is the head chef of the award-winning Greens restaurant in Didsbury Manchester and has presented a number of TV series, including the highly entertaining and informative regional food programme 'Grubs Up.' The show takes presenter and chef, Simon Rimmer on a gastro tour of the North West, cooking with all the great local produce at the locations visited. 'Grubs Up' will be retuning to our screens in November this year.
Tim Croft Managing Director of Island Seafare commented " It was great chatting to Simon about the fresh seafood that the Isle of Man has to offer. He was also pleasantly surprised to learn that we actually smoke our own Salmon here on the Island. It's great that shows like Grubs Up highlight the work that many of the smaller producers do towards conservation and sustainability. As for the filming, I think it will make great viewing seeing us both preparing local crab. Cooking it up on the harbour here in Port St Mary really shows the great produce and superb landscape of the island at its finest.'
Filming also took place with a number of other local producers and included Moore's Kippers, Loaghtan Lamb, Heron and Brearley and there was even time for a spot of lunch at the Highlander Restaurant.
