Guy Brown Quietly Helping Communities Year Round

Million-dollar, minority-owned firm gives back in many ways.

NASHVILLE, TN, December 13, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Growing a company to multimillion dollar status does not happen in a vacuum. Reaching that milestone requires help from multiple sources, locally and beyond. Guy Brown is a company that recognizes the help it has received as it has grown into a national firm. The company also realizes that being a good corporate citizen requires that it give back to help those who are less fortunate. They do it year-round; not just Thanksgiving and Christmas.

When it comes to helping communities Guy Brown has an expansive reach and is generous with its contributions.

In the education arena Guy Brown has donated an average of $15,000 per year in scholarship money over the last decade to help underprivileged students attain their goals of higher education. For the past eight years the company has provided several paid internships to area minority high school or college students to ease the financial burden of college. In Washington, DC the company supports an internship at Howard University, one of their major customers.

Guy Brown President and CEO Tera Vazquez says, "A solid education is vitally important if our students are to be successful in a global community. I want Guy Brown to always give to those who are less fortunate as a way to help our communities continue to grow and for us to continue to be good citizens."

In 2011 and 2010 they hosted their annual blood drive, toy collection effort and food collection at its Brentwood headquarters. This multi-pronged approach benefits the American Red Cross, Toys For Tots and Second Harvest. Through donations, the community helped three well deserving organizations in one stop.

But Guy Brown continues to give. They donated and helped assemble 2,400 comfort kits to the Nashville Chapter of the American Red Cross. These kits are given to children at disaster relief sites. And they outfitted the entire Choral Music Department of Pearl Cohn High School with new choir robes.

For Guy Brown it feels good to give back.
