Ms. Hamka has more than 13 years of professional experience and excels in coordinating resources and planning lessons for world languages. She is primarily responsible for coordinating grants for schools, integrating technologies with the foreign language curriculum, overseeing the parent lending library, creating community partnerships, managing administrative duties including guidelines and benchmarks, and organizing field trips and meetings.

Ms. Hamka is pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Assessment and Administration, and earned her Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Michigan in 2005. She has learned several languages including Arabic, French, Spanish, German, English and Sign Language from her father, who is a linguist. She is affiliated with the Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning, the American Federation of Teachers, and volunteers with Zaman International and the Arab American National Museum. Ms. Hamka also has a passion for journalism, and spends her free time reading and writing poetry. She stays current with the trends in her profession by reading industry-related publications.
