/24-7PressRelease/ - HANA, MAUI, HAWAII, January 13, 2006 - Four months ago Kaleo Kaina suffered a stroke and since then, he has undergone a lot of medical procedures. A pacemaker was installed, he experienced four air medic trips from Hana to Maui Memorial Hospital for serious heart conditions, loss of blood circulation throughout his body, and diabetes has contributed to his health problems as well.

Presently, Kaleo is in Honolulu undergoing extensive tests to determine the cause of his present condition and get a second opinion of his recent diagnoses and prognosis. He's been experiencing shortness of breath and tightness in his chest.

Kaleo is an extraordinary musician and falsetto singer of Hawaiian music and is loved by many people. He was in the famed Ho'opi'i Brothers for many years and has given of himself unconditionally to people not only in Hana, but throughout Maui. Because of his love for music, he especially enjoys sharing his talents with all. He has donated countless hours of his time singing at weddings, fundraisers, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, special occasions, luaus, cultural events and community events-- always giving and never asking for anything in return.

Kaleo and Patsy's children are planning a day of music, crafts, games, food, a silent auction, a carnival for children and a festival of fun. It will be a day of great fun and family enjoyment. Tickets for this event will cost $15 (pre sale) and $20 (at the gate).

Tickets will be on sale at all Hana locations as well as Borders and Bounty Music, and by all Kaina Family Members...

Entertainment will include: MC Uncle Boy Kanae, Vince Esquire, Boom and Friends, Bradah Larry and the Hailiimaile Band, Hatota Tehiva, Noenoe 'Ohana, Kaiolohia Funes-Smith, Ua Mau, Zack Kekona, Piilani Arias and Friends and More!

All donations can be sent to the Hana Community Association, a non-profit organization in Hana. Your gift is tax-deductible! Please note if you would like a return receipt. The address is:
