Harvard Business School Club of Charlotte Donations to Non-Profits Reach 572K

Harvard Business School (HBS) Alumni Club of Charlotte announced today their annual donations to Charlotte area non-profits will bring their total donations to nearly $600,000.

CHARLOTTE, NC, January 24, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Harvard Business School (HBS) Alumni Club of Charlotte announced today their annual donations to Charlotte area non-profits will bring their total donations to nearly $600,000.

Spanning more than a decade of community goodwill, with this year's donations of $69,000 (an annual club record), the club will have donated $572,750 to Charlotte area non-profits. The donations are derived from surplus tuition monies from their Management Development Program (MDP).

The Management Development Program, a "mini MBA" style course is a favorite with companies in the Charlotte region: taught entirely by Harvard Business School alumni to mid-level executives, the course offers rising young executives the chance to study business one night a week for 13 weeks with a roster of some of the most prominent CEOs, Presidents and Managing Partners in the Charlotte region. In exchange for donating their time as a teacher, these Harvard alumni earn a vote in determining which area non-profits receive a donation.

"The Management Development Program gives us the opportunity to give back to Charlotte, a city that has treated all of us so well. We pass along what we learned at Harvard, as well as throughout our careers, to some of the most promising young executives in the region; simultaneously, we contribute to the many, many highly deserving non-profits doing such important work in the Charlotte community," commented HBS Club President Juergen Seybold, President of Lutze, Corp.

Representatives from the winning non-profits will be on hand to receive their award at the February 2nd Management Development Program Celebration, which will be held at Olde Providence Racquet Club from 6:00-8:00 pm.

Members of the press are welcome to attend the Management Development Celebration. For more information, or if you'd like to attend, please contact Anne Mayfield at 704-782-2200, or via email at [email protected].
