Hastings & Hastings Offers Tips for Surviving the Summer Months

All residents of Arizona know that the valley is a paradise eight months of the year and an inferno for four months.

PHOENIX, AZ, August 07, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Unless 120 degree temperatures, capricious monsoon storms, and deadly wildlife sound enjoyable you, the summer months are a difficult time for residents of AZ.

Indeed, one of the best defenses against the scorching summer is hydration. Always remain vigilant about hydration. Some of the symptoms of dehydration are as follows: dry mouth, dizziness, confusion, headaches, flushing of the skin, and fainting. If you notice the onset of these symptoms, stop what you are doing, relax, and hydrate immediately. What's more, if you experience severe symptoms such as dizziness and confusion head to the ER before it's too late. People die every year from dehydration.

One of the obstacles associated with the summer is finding activities amidst the heat. Pool time is highly recommended. There are also water parkers, rivers, lakes, and public swimming pools to frequent. The important thing is to remain around water. Immersing yourself in water, and reemerging, serves as a natural air-conditioning. The wind will create a natural air conditioner.

If the heat is too much to bear, then get out of town. Flagstaff is just a three hour drive away, and there are lots of attractions there to fill a week. Exempli gratis, hiking, nightclubs, and art shops littered around downtown Flagstaff. Although Flagstaff sometimes boasts temperatures exceeding 100 degrees, the climate is cooler and ultimately more desirable than Phoenix during the summer months.

Perhaps the most important tip for surviving summer is to keep perspective. Remind yourself that the brutal heat of summer is transient. Soon, the winter months will approach, and Arizona will be ideal for hiking, kayaking, and staying out late in Old Town Scottsdale once again.
