KEA'AU, HAWAII, July 17, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Hawaiian Springs LLC, a premier natural water brand recognized for bottling some of the purest and most sustainable waters in the world, today announced it helped to raise key funding for charity at the 2009 Maui Film Festival, held at the Wailea Resort and the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului, Hawaii, from June 17-21, 2009. As the official water of the festival, Hawaiian Springs provided thousands of bottles of water for the event, in addition to offering the 500-milliliter and 1-liter bottles for sale at the Celestial Cinema concession stand. Funds raised for charity—20 percent of all proceeds—will go to the various nonprofit organizations that volunteered to staff the concessions stand, including Habitat for Humanity, Surfrider Foundation, Women Helping Women and the Kamehameha School Alumni Association.

"It has been an honor to be involved with this significant event for art, film and the state of Hawaii," said Rick Hadley, chairman and CEO of Hawaiian Springs. "Through this tremendous opportunity, we are able to support a number of charities committed to making a difference in the lives of so many throughout Hawaii and beyond."
Distributed predominately in the Hawaiian Islands since 1995, Hawaiian Springs is now sold at leading health food retailers on the U.S. mainland, including Whole Foods and Mother's Market. By capturing the Arctic rains that fall over the Big Island of Hawaii and bottling it within 30 days, Hawaiian Springs is one of the freshest waters available.

"Hawaiian Springs is truly a local favorite," said Barry Rivers, director of the Maui Film Festival. "Festival participants and attendees alike were delighted to have their preferred beverage so readily available throughout the action-packed series of events."

This year's film festival honored Zooey Deschanel with the 2009 Nova Award at Wailea Beach on Thursday, June 18, and Willie Nelson with the 2009 Maverick Award at Wailea Resort on Friday, June 19. Deschanel was recognized as an artist who consistently infuses each character she portrays with unique insight and wisdom. Nelson was spotlighted as a contemporary music icon with the backbone to speak his mind and stand proudly for the freedom of artistic and political expression.
