Herb Rosenberg Named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who's Who

Mr. Rosenberg has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the fine arts

JERSEY CITY, NJ, August 31, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name Herb Rosenberg a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished listee, Mr. Rosenberg celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

As noted sculptor and chairman of the art department at Jersey City University, Mr. Rosenberg produces artwork described as "emotions in motion," using innovative techniques with aluminum, neon lighting, and even dry banana peels. From nine-foot tall aluminum columns to miniature plastic cows, his studio is constantly full of works in progress. Mr. Rosenberg's work has been exhibited since 1971, and he has frequently been commissioned for memorials, monuments, awards, corporate logos, as well as portraits and busts. He is left-handed, and achieved success in art and education despite being unable to read at an early age.

Born in New York, NY, to David and Eve Rosenberg in 1942, Mr. Rosenberg was diagnosed with dyslexia, which interfered with his brain's ability to discern printed letters. His mother introduced him to the medium of clay, which he shaped from the age of nine, frequenting the art school of the Brooklyn Museum to improve his communications. Mr. Rosenberg attended the State University of New York, Binghampton, and spent his junior year with L'Ecole Nationale Superieur des Beaux Arts in Paris.

Mr. Rosenberg earned a bachelor's degree in 1964, and funded his continuing education by working as a youth parole officer in the Bedford Stuyvesant neighborhood of New York. In 1967, Mr. Rosenberg earned a Master of Fine Arts from the Pratt Institute. He has also conducted postgraduate studies with the Herfordshire College of Art and Design, and is certified as an expressive arts therapist.

In the '70s, Mr. Rosenberg began settling his roots, pursuing marriage, fatherhood of his son Andrew, and steady employment as director of art therapy studies with New Jersey City University. He began to produce art at an accelerated pace, and was first exhibited at the university's faculty shows. Mr. Rosenberg received his first large commissions in the '80s, notably the Robeson Memorial in Lafayette Park, New Jersey in 1981, and an exterior mural for Johnson Agricultural Farm in Nova Scotia, Canada in 1982. Notable installations include a 2003 wall tryptich in Nice, France, the office entrance for Bysis Corporation in aluminum and copper on Park Avenue, New York City, a corporate entrance for 579 Fifth Avenue Corporation in New York City, the Holocaust Memorial in Hollis Hills, New York, and a landscape fountain for the Ville d'Avray in France. Mr. Rosenberg was the logo designer and fabricator in 1983 for One Time Square Corporation, which is the home of the New Year's Eve ball that drops each year in the square.

Selected locations that have hosted Mr. Rosenberg's work include the World's Fair in Brisbane, Australia in 1988, the 1992 United Nations Educational in Paris, the Grand Palais in Paris, and most recently as a solo exhibitor in 2013 at the Jadite Gallery. From 2014 to 2015, Mr. Rosenberg contributed to the "Oh Sit!" exhibition for the New York City Parks Department, which produced numerous whimsical seating arrangements in public parks all over the city from many celebrated artists. Curiously, for an artist used to working with many innovative techniques, Mr. Rosenberg's latest fascination is with found objects and their reuse as art.

For a remarkable artistic career spanning an international patronage, Mr. Rosenberg was named 1984 Sculptor of the Year by the Hudson County Cultural Center, and has received a 1992 Juror's Award from the Hong Kong Museum of Art. He is also the recipient of numerous grants from Jersey City State College in the '80s, and was recently affiliated with the American Academy of Contemporary Artists and the KAPPA PI International Art Honors Society. Mr. Rosenberg maintains current membership with the New Jersey Art Therapy Association, the International Sculpture Center, the Australian Sculpture Society, the International Expressive Arts Association, and the Hurley Foundation, where he has served on the board since 1997.

Mr. Rosenberg was selected for inclusion in five volumes of Who's Who in America from 2002 to 2006, as well as the 2001 volume of Who's Who in the World. His art is available for viewing at www.Herb-Rosenberg.com.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Mr. Rosenberg has been featured on the Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievers website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
