/24-7PressRelease/ - Savannah, GA, July 11, 2008, Herbert E. Harley, Director of Training for Chatham County Sheriff's Department, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of law enforcement.

With more than 24 years of professional experience, Mr. Harley excels in training and counseling. He became involved in his profession because of his interest in law enforcement. On January 14, 1991, Mr. Harley was appointed as Lt. Colonel, Aide De Camp by then Governor Zell Miller. In September of 2007, he was promoted to the professional rank of Captain at the Chatham County Sheriff's Department. In 1986, he received the Officer of the Year Award from Chatham County Sheriff's Department. Mr. Harley he attributes his success to his hard work and dedication.

Mr. Harley, a national certified pressure point control tactics and self-defense instructor, has completed coursework in management development at Carl Vinson Institute of Government in 2008 and various programs at the GPSTC Regional Police Academy and the Georgia Public Safety Training Center over the past 24 years. He is a state certified law enforcement instructor, an emergency medical instructor, a firearms instructor, a peer counselor, and a police legal advisor in Chatham County. Mr. Harley is the former president of the Georgia Jail Association and volunteers for St. Peter's Cathedral.
