/24-7PressRelease/ -- HOT is a State-Approved, SES Provider offering FREE literacy & youth training programs to qualifying students. Our program received a statewide 3-yr. grant through the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), Title I. dept that requires schools in their third consecutive year of not making Adequate Yearly Progress to offer supplemental educational services - or free tutoring - to students. These services provide students extra help in reading, language arts and math, and are made available before or after school, on weekends or during the summer. HOT uses the Wilson Reading System servicing students in grades 2nd-12th, that are reading and/or spelling below their expected level or are struggling with the English language in comprehension, spelling, and/or fluency.
Students will benefit from the literacy program whether or not they have been diagnosed with Dyslexia, a Language Based Learning Disability, struggling with Spelling or Comprehension, battling a Reading deficit, and/or an ESOL student. Below is a list of who this program greatly benefits:
• Students with Dyslexia
• Struggling Readers
• Students unable to decode accurately
• Slow labored readers who lack fluency
• Students who may know many words by sight, but have difficulty reading new words and "nonsense" words
• Students able to speak and understand English, but not read or write it (such as ESOL students)
• Poor spellers
• Students unsuccessful with other reading programs or who still have gaps' in their decoding and/or spelling
The Wilson Reading Program addresses all key areas necessary in effective reading instruction during each scheduled session: Phonological & Phonemic Awareness, Phonics/Word Study, Vocabulary,
Sight Word Instruction, Fluency, Handwriting, Written Comprehension, and Comprehension. This is a huge distinguishing factor of HOT from other reading programs that are usually homework help or require student to use the same school books they struggle with, instead of teaching effective strategies and techniques to make students accurate, fluent readers of the English language no matter what they are reading! "This program means that children who have these disabilities have an advantage to succeed," says a parent.WRS is a targeted program that works!
During each session students will receive 45 to 90minutes of intensive and stimulating, one-on-one or small group tutorial sessions. We provide in-home tutorial for comfort and familiarity or we can meet at a nearby location. It is recommended that student(s) receive 2 to 4 weekly sessions with their assigned state certified tutor that is trained in Orton-Gillingham reading methods, as well as Wilson trained. Tutors receive ongoing professional developments to ensure their continuous knowledge with the program materials and to enhance their ability to grow within & out of the company. HOT guarantees you will see improvements in grades with a minimum of 20 hours with our reading services.
