REDONDO BEACH, CA, October 24, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jesse Torres, bank president and acclaimed Hispanic marketing author, today announced that the Community Banker's Guide to Hispanic Marketing will be updated to reflect recent experiences in Hispanic marketing. Mr. Torres stated that he will utilize Web 2.0 and the Hispanic marketing community in developing the revised book. Specifically, Mr. Torres will solicit the ideas of the Hispanic marketing community through the use of social media Web site Facebook.com.

"In 2005, I released the Community Banker's Guide to Hispanic Marketing, which was considered to a large extent "the" roadmap to reaching the Hispanic market within the financial services industry. In the years following the release of the Guide, bank organizers utilized the Guide as the basis for many de novo Hispanic bank applications and bank marketers used the Guide to develop successful marketing strategies," said Torres.

"It has been three years since the Guide was released. A lot has changed and a lot remains the same. But more importantly, a lot has been implemented in an attempt to reach this highly diverse market. The revision of the guide is based on requests made by bankers who continue to develop and implement Hispanic marketing programs and who seek additional insight into strategies that have worked well."

In developing his research strategy, Mr. Torres has determined that a successful update requires feedback from the many recent implementers of Hispanic marketing initiatives. As such, Mr. Torres determined that the use of social media could best capture the initiatives and the related success, failures and lessons learned. As a result Mr. Torres established a group on Facebook.com for the purpose of sharing such critical information.

"My intent behind the use of Facebook is to complement traditional research with social research in order to create a significantly better product," said Mr. Torres. "I would like those participating in this great exercise to visit the Facebook site to let me know what they know works and doesn't work, what should be added, what is on-target and what is not. I will then take the information shared and incorporate it into the revised Guide, which will be freely shared."

In order to participate in this revision and social media exercise Mr. Torres requests that participants download a free copy of the Guide located at http://hispanic-marketing.jessetorres.com/hm2005.pdf. Participants are asked to read the Guide and then visit the Facebook site at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=31323524747&ref=mf in order to share their feedback. Mr. Torres will release the revised Guide during the first quarter 2009.
