With the slowing of the housing market many retailers are showing lowered earnings estimates. Victoria Albert Company is not experiencing these effects from vendors. Comparing the first six months of 2006 and 2007, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBIDA) is up 49.6 percent in 2007. Sales in 2007 are also up 54 percent.
"Mary (Mary Jullmann, co-owner of Two Sisters at Butler's II Gallery) and I initially started out with a small order but found that we had to re-order more and more frequently -almost weekly!" said Cricket Werkheiser, co-owner of Two Sisters at Butler's II Gallery. "Our shop is a bird and animal paradise and the Victoria Albert lines fit in quite well."
Buyers of Victoria Albert products include retail stores, mail order catalogs, on-line catalogs, interior designers and specialty stores. Current product lines include Home, Garden, and Entertaining. The initial Home product line was introduced in 1998. In 2001 Garden and Entertaining were added.
"Every year we place a much larger order with our manufactures than the year before. Each year we wish we'd ordered more," said Miller. "Our goal is to design and produce quality products that people want in their homes. With the release of each new product line our sales clime. I'm confident that our upcoming 2008 entertaining lines will have the same result."
